On April 26, 2017, Anthony and Claudine attended a hearing in Washington, DC. The subcomittee on Government Operations heard testimony regarding the "Unintended Consequences of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)".
Testimony was heard from Senator Rand Paul, Attorney James Bopp, Jr., and several US citizens who have been negativley affected by FATCA. Two of these citizens had to renounce their US citizenship because of banking issues brought on by FATCA.
The Minority Expert Witness was Professor Elise Bean, the "Architect" of FATCA. During her testimony and questioning by Congressman Mark Meadows, she made several (at least fifteen) errors regarding the laws of FATCA and how this law affects real people.
